Tricks for getting it right

I tried, but it didn’t go very well! Common mistakes and tricks for getting it right

First-timers! People who gave up after trying and not getting it right. This is for you!

Case 1 I can’t get it in no matter how many times I try!

Maybe you’re holding it wrong?

Trick:Grip it by the bumpy part on the white cylinder. Hold with the thumb and middle finger of your dominant hand.

.

Maybe the insertion angle is off?

Trick: The route from the vaginal opening to the uterus is up and towards the back on a diagonal. Instead of aiming straight up, try to angle towards the back, and insert slowly.

Maybe you’re trying to insert all of the blue cylinder too?

Trick: Just insert it until your fingers holding the grip reach your vaginal opening. The blue cylinder doesn’t go in.

Is your body tensed?

Trick: It can be hard to insert if you’re straining. Find the right angle, and it will slide right in.

Relax as much as possible and try to do it while exhaling.

Case 2 It feels uncomfortable!

This is key!

If the tampon reaches the comfort zone, it won’t be uncomfortable!

If the tampon reaches the comfort zone deep in the vagina, it won’t hurt or be uncomfortable.

Maybe you’re not inserting the white cylinder far enough?

Trick: Did you hold the grip on the white cylinder, and insert it until your fingers touch your vaginal opening? This is the first step to delivering the tampon to the right location!

Use both hands until you get used to it!

Trick: When pushing the blue cylinder, the white cylinder can get forced out by abdominal pressure. Use both hands to keep the white cylinder inside while pushing the blue one. Recommended for first timers.

Are you pushing the blue cylinder in all the way?

Common mistakes

- Pushing in while removing it

- Not inserting it all the way to begin with

Trick: If you don’t push the blue cylinder all the way into the white cylinder, the tampon won’t come out. Push it in until your fingers overlap.

Case 3 I’m still a little scared!

If you’re still a little unsure about using tampons, keep these things in mind!

First, check this video!

Try on a day with heavy flow!

On days with heavy menstrual flow, tampons can slide in easily and be removed smoothly.

If it’s your first time or you haven’t been able to get it right, try it on a day with heavy flow.

Insert it deeply, into the right spot!

If you’re too timid when inserting, it might not get to the right spot and could feel uncomfortable.

Follow the guide to insert it all the way to the comfort zone.

Try changing the location!

In a cramped, dark lavatory it’s hard to relax... why not try doing it in the shower/bath room?

It’s easy to clean up, and if you do it right after a bath, you’re starting with clean hands and body!

Use the tampon that suits you best!

If it hurts when removing it, the tampon might not suit you.

If the absorbent part is still white in parts, try using one with a lighter absorbency.

Prepare for removal!

When you pull the string, it could fall onto your hand. If you hold a folded a piece of toilet paper when removing your tampon, you can catch it without getting your hand dirty.

Even so...

I still don’t get it! I’m nervous! Is this you?
